|Yo-Yo Ma Rules!

"You're gonna open your mouth and lift houses off the ground. Whole houses, clear off the ground..."
Yep -that's what I kept on thinking. I was in tears for much of it.
I've been bawling like a baby most of the morning. I did not think this was something I would see in my lifetime.
Did Yo-Yo Ma say that? I was changing a diaper and missed that part. I love Yo-Yo Ma! And yes, it was a spectacular thing to see. I was so glad that Duncan could see it, and Valerie could see part of it (and sleep through a lot of it), but that they will grow up in a world where they will never have to wonder if anybody except a white man can be president. Of course, Duncan will BE a white man who may want to be president, and that's OK too. ;-)

No, Yo-Yo Ma didn't say it, it's a quote from "The West Wing" (as is the entry heading, there's a different episode where Yo-Yo Ma performs in).
The quote is one from an episode dealing with when the Martin Sheen character first ran for president. The person running his campaign (and also one of his closest friends) tells him basically that when he wins, he's going to do great things. I thought the quote was appropriate for the day. :)
Sorry for the confusion!
I totally understood what was meant by the quote--it is awesome! I was wishing that someone would say something like that about me. And then I realized that Jesus did, kind of, when he says that anyone who has faith in him will do greater things than he did himself. And dude, he raised the dead! I wish it was the same for me as having someone tell me that in person. I am working on it, though--maybe someday I will feel it down in my heart about myself.
Regardless, though, the quote was absolutely perfect for the day. :-)
